The construction of Smorgon Dry Skimmed Milk Plant was started in April 1973, the plant was commissioned in December 1975. The actual construction of the plant lasted 32 months.
In 1975, the main production of the plant consisted of three shops: a whole milk shop, a butter shop and a dry skimmed milk shop.
In 1985, the butter shop was reconstructed, new German equipment was installed.
In 1991, the drying plant was reconstructed in order to improve the quality of the products.
In 1992, a two-level production building of the cottage cheese production site was made.
Since 1995 the plant has been the leading exporter of butter, cottage cheese, dry skimmed milk in Grodno region.
In 1996, Smorgon dry skimmed milk plant was transformed into JSC Smorgon Milk Products.
From 2003 to 2004, the next stages of reconstruction and modernization of the whole-milk shop were carried out.
In 2005, our enterprise was the first in the Republic to install a gas generator in the dry skimmed milk shop for heating air in the process of drying milk.
In 2006, the enterprise opened a new shop for the production of cottage cheese and installed an automated production line for cottage cheese "TEWES BIS" (produced in Poland - Germany), with a capacity of 5 tons per shift.
In 2009, the most important innovation project was implemented - the construction of its own boiler house. Energy-efficient equipment was installed with 94% efficiency.
In 2010, a device for primary processing of raw materials with capacity of 25,000 liters per hour was put into operation in the hardware and butter shop, the line for packing dry milk was automated.
On December, 29, 2011, JSC "Smorgon Milk Products" was reorganized by joining JSC "Lida Milk Canning Plant" as a branch.
In 2013, the reconstruction of the dry milk products shop was completed, in particular, the construction of a second drying unit with capacity of 1000 kilograms per hour, which increased the volume of processed milk almost 2 times. The reconstruction of the line for the production of cottage cheese was carried out with the increase in capacity from 5 tons per shift to 12.5 tons per shift.
In 2015, "Reconstruction of the site of thickening of milk with the installation of a film-type vacuum evaporator" was launched.
The greatest wealth of the plant is its well-coordinated staff full of technically competent and erudite experienced specialists.
"Smorgon Milk Products" branch of JSC "Lida Milk Canning Plant" is represented on the market under the trade mark "Smorgonski Krai".
The main goal is to make high-quality products for consumers competitive in both domestic and foreign markets.
The enterprise pays much attention to the sanitary standards of production, production control, quality control of raw materials and finished products.
The main activities of "Smorgon Milk Products" are the processing of milk raw materials and the further production of milk products, as well as trade and procurement activities, retail (branded) trade, etc. The plant specializes in the manufacture of export-oriented products: cottage cheese, butter and dry milk products, in addition, a large number of names of whole milk products and ice cream is made.
Consumers appreciate the taste of the company's products. And it's no coincidence: when making milk products, only natural raw materials are used here and preservatives are not used.
For high achievements in the field of quality "Smorgon Milk Products" was awarded a prize for quality at the IV International Convention in Geneva.

For participation in 2011 in the contest "The best goods of the Republic of Belarus on the market of the Russian Federation" the enterprise was awarded a diploma of the laureate for the following products: "Sweet-cream unsalted butter 82,5%", "Cottage cheese 9% fat", "Dry skimmed milk." The diploma of the winner was received in the competition-tasting "GUST-2011" for "Sweet-cream unsalted butter with 82.5% fat " and "Pasteurized cream with 25% fat", "GUST-2013" in the nomination "Butter "Krestyanskoe" sweet cream unsalted with 72.5% fat", "GUST-2014" in the nomination "Sour cream 26%", "GUST-2015" in the nomination "Sour cream 26%" and “Butter “Milida" with 72, 5% fat".
For participation in 2012 in the contest "The best goods of the Republic of Belarus" the enterprise was awarded the diploma of the laureate for the following products: "Sweet-cream unsalted butter 82.5%", "Cottage cheese 9% fat", "Dry skimmed milk".
Great attention is paid to expanding the geography of export supplies. The plant exports its products to foreign countries: Israel, Japan, Holland, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, France, Singapore, United Arab Emirates. "Smorgon Milk Products" is one of the leading exporter of dry skimmed milk and sweet cream butter, as well as the leading exporter of cottage cheese to the Russian Federation among milk enterprises in Grodno region.
The quality requirements and the desire to improve it, as well as increasing the competitiveness of products, has made the management and the staff of "Smorgon Milk Products" to certify the quality system in accordance with the requirements of the international standards ISO 9001. In September 2004, the enterprise received the certificate of conformity of the quality management system for the production of dry skim milk STB ISO 9001-2001. In October 2006, the scope of certification was increased for the compliance of the quality management system with the production of butter, cottage cheese and sour cream STB ISO 9001-2001.
In 2010, the enterprise implemented, certified in the national conformity assessment system (STB 1470) and maintains a quality and food safety management system based on risk analysis and critical control points (HACCP), which is a world-wide recognized method for ensuring food safety and promotes the promotion of products to foreign markets. HACCP system extends to the production of dry skimmed milk, butter from cow's milk, spread, cottage cheese, sour cream, pasteurized milk, kefir and soft cheese "Belarusian Klinkovy". In 2012, the area of distribution of the certificate of conformity for the manufacture of dry milk product, concentrate of dairy whey, dry whole milk.
The environmental management system (EMS) of milk processing, ice cream production is successfully functioning, it meets the requirements of STB ISO 14001-2005. Certificate of conformity was received.
On October 28, 2009, a certificate of compliance was received for the OSH management system for STB 18001.
The certificate of conformity with the requirement of the HALYAL certificate system for the production of dry skimmed milk on 02.01.2014 was received.
