On October 3, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Belarus, Mikhail Babich, paid a working visit to the Grodno region. In the field of interest of the diplomat, several issues were listed on this day, including visiting the NPP construction site in Ostrovets and studying the work of the agro-industrial complex in the Smorgon district.
From August 24, 2018, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 496, Mikhail Babich was appointed Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of trade and economic cooperation with the Republic of Belarus and Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 495 was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to our country.
Part of the visit, which concerned the work of the agro-industrial complex (in particular, the Smorgon district), was devoted to issues related to the sale of products. Within the framework of his visit, Mikhail Babich together with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Rusy, the Governor of the Grodno Region Vladimir Kravtsov, the Chairman of the Smorgon District Executive Committee Gennady Khoruzhik visited the Soly dairy complex of the municipal agricultural unitary enterprise "AgroSoly" and Smorgon Milk Products Enterprise. At these sites, the guests got acquainted in detail with the technological processes.
In matters of marketing Belarusian agricultural products to Russia, we have certain difficulties with the Belarusian side. Mikhail Rusy and I came here to see with our own eyes how enterprises work, what technologies are used there, how they are modernized, how the quality control system is carried out, etc. Work on solving problematic issues will continue. - assured Michael Babich.
